The NCSS recognises the unique position of community networks in encouraging participation and assisting in the delivery of population screening programmes. CervicalCheck Today Moves to Screening by Invitation

In line with best international practice, CervicalCheck – The National Cervical Screening Programme is today moving to an organised call, re-call and opt-in method of invitation to maximise uptake among eligible women aged 25 to 60. CervicalCheck has a register of eligible women and over the next three year screening round, will send eligible women nationwide an invitation for their free smear test by post.

CervicalCheck Advice to Women Regarding Cervical Screening

CervicalCheck - The National Cervical Screening Programme recommends that all women aged 25 to 60 should attend for regular smear tests. In line with best international practice and the guidelines of the World Health Organisation, CervicalCheck provides free smear tests to women aged 25 to 44 every three years and, on receipt of two consecutive 'no abnormality detected' smear test results, every five years to women aged 45 to 60.
