No, if a patient is currently attending a colposcopy clinic, do not take their test in primary care. While a patient is under the care of colposcopy, their details are no longer active on the cervical screening register.
When they are discharged back to primary care, they will become active again on the screening register. This means they will be recalled for screening in primary care based on the discharge recommendation issued by the colposcopy clinic.

When a patient is discharged from the Colposcopy Clinic, a discharge letter will be sent from the Colposcopy Clinic to the patient’s GP detailing when the next screening test is due. You can also check the online eligibility checker which will give you the date of her next due test.

If a woman has attended private colposcopy and has been advised to have a screening test which is not in line with her CervicalCheck recall recommendation you must refer the woman into colposcopy to have her correct recall recommendation determined as per the CervicalCheck guidelines. This will allow the woman to be reintegrated back into the CervicalCheck screening programme and for her elibility to be ammended
