The National Cancer Screening Service (NCSS) has a statutory remit to implement special measures to promote participation in its screening programmes among marginalised populations. These programmes currently include CervicalCheck - The National Cervical Screening Programme and BreastCheck - The National Breast Screening Programme.
The NCSS recognises the unique position of community networks in encouraging participation and assisting in the delivery of population screening programmes. In this context the NCSS wishes to provide an opportunity to hear the views and opinions of community networks and health professionals on initiatives that they believe could be developed to maximise and sustain uptake amongst these ‘hard to reach’/marginalised population groups.
Comments are welcome on initiatives currently being used to reach these populations and/or international models of best practice that could be adapted and successfully implemented, in addition to current methods used by the NCSS.
